CNA Insurance (1999) Business Analyst/Developer, Rapid prototype of a ASP product for IE and Navigator that allows a reinsuring companies to make contract bids online through the Internet. Also allows documents to be securely exchanged through a upload/download process. Trans Union (1997-1999) Senior member of a five year re-engineering effort at Trans Union to rewrite an existing mainframe credit processing system in AIX/C for IBM SP/2 systems using Data-Parallel techniques. Site manager for three years. Conducted classes, mentored junior programmers, designed and developed Word List API, Address Processing API, developed file analysis tool that looks for patterns in raw data streams, wrote a library of awk and shell scripts. APAC (!996) Performed system / data analysis for multi-dimensional data warehouse project for America's largest telemarketing corporation, using HP-UX C, syncsort, and Oracle PL/SQL on HP9000. Delivered a data warehouse prototype in 3 months. Trace Miller (1997) Senior developer on a Rapid Application Development project on Win32 NT web-based airline reservation system developed for America On-line. Was released it was the 2nd product available in the U.S. for making airline reservations over the internet. Developed using Microsoft Visual C/C++ v4.0. 03/94 - 12/94 I-Concepts, Dallas, TX (214) 956-7770 Unix Applications Programmer Primary responsibility was to provide Unix programming, administration, and consulting services for twenty one British Consulates located throughout North America, as directed by the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. I was a key member of the in-house development team that created a proprietary Unix mail-exchange network that linked the British Embassy with all other British Consulates in the U.S. and Canada, using shell, AWK, C, and AT&T Unix S5R3 UUCP tools. Traveled extensively teaching classes in Uniplex, IBB, and Informix. Completed database conversion project in Toronto, Canada. 04/90 - 03/94 Geac, Commercial Systems Division, Dallas, TX (214) 490-3482 Operating System Support Programmer Responsible for developing new code and modifying existing corporate financial programs for large Unix installations in the U.S. and Canada by using a combination of Thoroughbred BASIC and Unix Greenhill C.
