My 2001 Corvette Picture Page In the summer of 2000 I ordered a 2001 Model Year Corvette with every almost every option you could add to it (I declined the polished rims and real-time adjustable suspension). Here are some of my favorite pictures. Everyone likes to ask how fast it will go. The speedometer goes to 200 but the manual says the car will top out at 175 MPH. I took it up to 145 MPH once near Starved Rock. The car has a broad power curve and accelerates effortlessly. The engine feels electric, it's a quiet but extremely hard puller. It has a 350 cubic inch motor that produces 350 H.P. and 360 ft. lbs. torque. It has a customizable HUD (Heads Up Display), and you can call up readouts on the temperature and level of almost every fluid in the car. You can call up PSI readings on all four tires on the dash. Awesome Cruise control. And the car will stop on a dime- the brakes are sensitive and powerful. You can engage and disengage a traction control mode, which will someday be standard on all cars.
It's very cool that this great machine is made right here in America, a rolling symbol of American pride and what we're capable of building.
