NEW YEAR’S DAY   

NO SCHOOL – CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

Went to Church at 11:00 – 12:00. Dad said Laura called about 11:05 (missed her call) I got back about 12:00 and called Robert and woke him up and asked him if he and Ron and Tony wanted to go to the farm with me. "Yes". I would pick them up in mom’s car at about 1:30. I took a shower and was about to eat when Edward dropped over. He had to go out with Lisa Hill that night so he did not come to the farm with us. I made macaroni and cheese (Ed did not want any) and then left to pick up Robert and Ron (Tony was out with Skunk). Mom and dad and Tammy were already on their way to the farm. At Harkins, Ron, Robert, and me got 3 six packs of Old Micky. We stayed at the farm until 5:00 (just messed around there, boring) and drove home. Dropped Ron and Robert off at their house, we all (THE BEATLES) were supposed to jam that night. Got home and Robert called. Tony had already forgotten that we were going to jam so he had a date (with that 16 year old he is dating, Tony is 18). So I called Frank’s house but he was out with Marti. Robert was going to go out with Layna since Tony could not make it. Ron was mad. So I called Paul (who had tried calling earlier), and he had a cold but he did want to go out. He said he had to wait until his parents got back from a movie to tell them he was going out so he would come over to my house at 8:00. I took a shower and Paul came over a little before 8:00. I got dressed and me and Paul went to Thrifty Liquor and got one pint of whiskey and some whisky sour mixer. Then we went to McDonalds for some ice and then we went to a park’s parking lot in Mrs. DeForests subdivision. Drank it all and then went to the square about 10:15 and then went to the Action West and bumped into Edward Martin there. He was with Lisa and DeAnn and Susan and their husbands. Paul and I stayed until about 12:15 and then we left because we were out of money and also Paul’s dad wanted him home by 1:00 A.M. from now on. As we were leaving Action West, we bumped into Ed again. As Paul was dropping me off, Frank drove up in the station wagon, he had just come from Marti’s house. Paul had to go home, so Frank and I went to Frank’s house and ate sandwiches and soup and then I went home and went to bed.

Saturday January 2, 1982

MARTI SCHAFFER’S BIRTHDAY

Woke up around 1:00 – 2:00 that afternoon, mom and dad had gone to the farm, Gayle called around 2:30, goofed off a while, ate, took a shower, Frank called it was Marti’s birthday and her party was tonight. I finally decided to go. Gayle called again. Then I took mom’s car and put gas in it at Pak-A-Sak and on the way home was right behind mom and dad coming home from the farm. Tammy was gone because she finally found someone (Larry Simmons) with enough gas (not me!) to take her and Sheri to Mall St. Vincent. About 7:15 I called Laurie’s house. Frank hand not yet picked her up and I told Laurie to tell Frank to go ahead and pick me up. Frank, Laurie, and Daniel came over in the station wagon about 7:30 and we all went to Marti’s house. Has been foggy all day and damp and smelly and tonight was no exception. Occasionally it would rain. Ate cake and ice cream and then (at Marti’s house- BIG 18) played FAMILY FEUD. After a while Paul showed up (he got off work at 9:00) then about 11:00 Paul Laurie, Me, and Daniel went to the den at my parent’s house. Earlier, I finally called Laura’s house and found out they had a change of plans, they would be back tomorrow afternoon.

Shortly, Frank and Marti’s brother showed up. We talked about airplanes and college. We all stayed in my parent’s den until about 12:20 and then we all went to Johneyys Pizza (except Paul, he had to be home by 1:00 – no exceptions). At Jhonneys we bumped into Whit Conway, Greg Ruiss, and one of their friends. Talked to them, then ate and then Frank drove us all home (Me, Marti’s brother, Daniel, Laurie, and Frank) in his station wagon. It was super foggy that night, got in about 1:30 A.M.

Sunday January 3, 1982

Woke up and me, Tammy, and mom picked up Frank for church at 9:40 A.M. After church dropped Frank off. Dad had left for the farm earlier that morning or while we were at church. Mom stayed home and cleaned house. I took a shower and ate. About 4:30, Laura called, she just got back in town at 2:30. Regretfully she couldn’t make it back Saturday night. She said she would try to come over and that if she could not that she would call. Frank came over for a few minutes, he was walking home from Marti’s and stopped by my house looking for a free meal. He got bored quickly and went home to eat porkchops. Laura called about 6:40 and said she couldn’t make it, her visiting company had not left yet. While we were talking on the phone, dad came home with hot donuts and her company left and then her dad left and so Laura invited me over. I said OK and that I would call her if I could not make it. I got to Laura’s house in mom’s car at 7:45 and Laurie was there but she soon left. We watched TV and Joe came home. Her mom is gone on vacation and will be back next Thursday or Friday. I left at 9:10 and got home at 9:21. At 9:30, I called Frank. "Still Game?" "Yeah!"

At 11:00, met Frank outside. We started to walk to Pak-A-Sak for beer and got about 1/3 the way and went back home to get bikes to ride to Hamels. Rode bikes to Pak-A-Sak and got 1 six pack of Old Mill. We rode up to Hamels and found dirty magazines on the Jimmy Davis bridge. Went into Hamels bathrooms (I brought the key) and goofed around. Went to the top of the rollercoaster and the log rides. We pushed a rollercoaster car off to see if it would make it around. It got stuck on the rollback bar on the first hill. What the hell! So we rode home and went to bed. Got home about 1:45. Make real good time on bikes. It was not very cold that night, was clear, no clouds, half moon.

Monday January 4, 1982

Went to school, saw a computer in Chemistry, missed 5^th, walked home with Marti, was almost asleep when Paul came over at about 2:20. He didn’t stay long, said that Ronnie Bowers got a job at a fire station on weekends. Paul wanted to see a movie that night. "OK" Paul left, I fell asleep, I woke up when Paul called at 4:47, I said call back later, I went back to sleep and he called again at 5:30. I said I would call him back, and I did at 6:05, said I did not feel well enough for a movie (Frank was not going to go anyway- no money) and so me and Paul said maybe some other night. I ate a hamburger, read the Black Hole book in the den when Laura called at 8:30. It was a good conversation until 10:05 when I went to bed and finished reading.

PHS BOYS AT JESUIT (AWAY)

PHS GIRLS VS AIRLINE (HOME)

Went to all classes; during lunch went into Raburn’s room to see the computer. After school, talked to Mrs. Tharp about grants, transcripts, and application for admission to LSUS. Got all the necessary material. After school, was reading when Tammy was breaking up with Russel. Fell asleep, and about 5:15 Laura called, we talked 10 minutes, she asked if she could invite herself over. "Sure!" She came over at 7:15. I took a shower and was playing the piano when Frank dropped by. He only stayed about 5 minutes but was there when Laura dropped over. Frank hid in a closet but soon came out. Frank left and Laura and I went into the den, and I showed her the college information, we talked and she left at about 9:30. Tammy had been at a ball game all night and mom had to work until 9:30. I ate BBQ potato chips and read, then went to bed.

Wednesday January 6, 1982

Woke up, missed first hour, checked in for 2^nd, went to school the rest of the day, came home and mom was already home because she was sick. Tried calling Laura for the hell of it, but there was no answer. Borrowed mom’s car and applied at Pizza Hut at 2:30. Got a free root beer for applying. They said they would call at 7:00 that night. Went home, read, and goofed off. Called a lady about the brown Oldsmobile 442 for sale down the street. Made ravioli and ate potato chips when Ron called. Said I would call him right back. While eating, Joe’s mother Thelma Manchester came over from next door. Her oldest daughter had a baby earlier that day so now she is a grandmother. Called Robert and Ron back, we would go out that night. Meet me at the Auld’s Library at 7:20. Tried calling Laura, her father answered the phone, would give Laura my message of "going out tonight- talk to you tomorrow". Laura never got in. Waited for the Pizza Hut phone call until 7:15m then left on the bike for the library. Just as I got there they were getting there too. I hid the bike. Drank beer and went to Thrifty to get more. We drove around on the interstate going west, the industrial loop east, Hamels to pee and stuck RC car- to Berry’s old road (Pine Hill – Robert wanted to see something out there) back to Hamels, went to Jeter’s house but no one was home so Ron pissed in their mailbox. I did try calling Laura from a payphone at 9:00 but there was no answer. We went back to Hamels, saw a car that looked like Laurie’s (thought it was Jeter and Lee) we chased it and nearly wiped out, messed with their heads and we went back to Hamels then Robert to me to the library. I got home at 10:00, a note on the fridge said to call Laura. I called Laura and we walked until 11:30. We talked about black holes, God, and general things. I went to bed and read a little while and then went to sleep.

Historical Fact:  President Ronald Regan announces plans to resume the military registration of 18-year old men, to be ready for a possible draft.  The men are to register within 30 days of their 18th birthday.

PHS BOYS AT BOSSIER TOURNAMENT

Woke up, mom stayed home because she is still sick, went to school all day. Went into the library and had 1^st hour absence fixed. Mr. Hess announced that the band trip this year was in Nashville Tenn. Was beginning to walk home from school when I bumped into Ronnie Bowers, and he gave me a lift home. He was fixing to go to Captain Shreve to see Ellen. Got home, and mom was at the commissary. Played records, and mom came home and we unloaded groceries. About 2:40, I left in mom’s car to get cheese for her. Was supposed to get books at the library and folders at the BX but went to Laura’s house instead. A surprise visit! Her mom was back from vacation and had just gotten back from the commissary also. Laura had just gotten back from the dentist and her lip looked funny but that didn't prevent much... I stayed about 1 hour (talked to Joe about the Shreve play last year- he was there!) and went home and stopped at Best Yet for moms cheese. Played the piano, finished the Black Hole book, made Macaroni and Cheese, Gayle called and we talked about 15 minutes, I made a drawing when Laura called at 7:30 and we talked until 9:45. We talked about God, religion, black holes, ACT, colleges, school grades, etc. I went to bed, read about Einstein and fell asleep.

Friday January 8, 1982

Woke up, missed 1^st and 2^nd periods. Mouth was dry for awhile. After school tried to call Laura like I was supposed to but the phone was busy. Mom was already home from work because she got off early. I took a nap and told mom not to let anyone bug me. Ellen came by while I was asleep. Right before my nap, Laura and Laurie called and they were in a perverted and wild mood, they just called to say "Hi!". I told Laura that I would or she would get in touch with her or me. Took a nap, woke up at 6:00 and Laura called. Would be there at 7:00 or shortly afterwards. Dad beat me to the shower so I did not get there until 7:20 (called Paul first – should be home any minute his mother said), got out of the shower and called Paul. He said he would be down in 15 minutes. I called Laura and told her I would be later than originally planned. Paul came over and Paul and I took mom’s car to pick up Laura and Laurie. Paul drove a little ways there. Picked up Laura at 7:20 and then we went to Laurie’s house. Laurie said to stop at Pak-A-Sak so we went to the Pak-A-Sak by Tony Prather’s house and Laurie got cigarettes and I went in to get beer but they didn’t have Michelob so we left for my house. Never saw Daniel that night. Frank was out with Marti and they might stop by later if we were at my house about 11:00. Got to my house and Laurie, me, Paul, and Laura went into the den and talked. Gail called, and we talked about 10 min in the den while Laura flirted with Paul. Paul had brought bourbon over so I was drinking it and chasing it with coke. Laura drank her beer, and Paul mixed the Bourbon and coke. About 11:00, Frank and Marti came over, they had just come back from "Cinderella" – a Margrie Lions Production. Frank and Marti didn’t stay to long, Marti had to go. After a while it was getting late and Laura had a basketball game tomorrow morning, so Laura, me, Laurie, and Paul went in Paul's car and dropped off Laurie and then Laura (about 1:00 A.M.). Paul and I went back to my house and Frank was standing in the carport. We ate ham sandwiches here and then went to Frank’s house for fudge and hot chocolate. I made a mess. Paul and Frank came back to my house, and then left at about 2:15 when Paul drove Frank home. I got a little more than buzzed that night. Tammy came home late and funny looking too. Thought Gayle was going to stop by at 11:30, but I was mistaken that was tomorrow night.

Saturday January 9, 1982

Woke up at 6:30 A.M., drank nearly ½ gallon of orange juice, went back to bed and tried to sleep. Heard mom and dad get up and go to the farm. About 7:30 I got back up and decided to go to Laura’s basketball game at 10:00. Got dressed and went to wash mom’s car, then went to find the church where the game would be at. Wound up at Centenary following Laura’s directions but deductive reasoning and pure logic on my part got me to the correct church at 10:10. Laura’s mother was there, and Laura’s team won. It was a great game! I drove Laura home, and her mother offered to cook for me. I said no thank you and left to let Laura take a shower and I needed to go home to take one also. I went to Robert’s house and woke him up at 11:40. We talked, got pictures, negatives, and a guitar strap (Ron was there too). Went home, took a shower and Laura called. She said she was going to Dillards with her mother but would not be long and that she would call when she got back. So I made (frozen) lasagna and was reading the paper when Laura drove up. We talked and then Tammy went to Shannons. Laurie called my house twice. She wanted to know if we wanted to go fix up the old church for her sister’s friends. Laura left about 5:00 and went home. She called about 6:00, I would pick Frank up at 6:45, Laura at 7:00, and Laurie about 7:15 in mom’s car. Laurie had to pick up her sisters from work at 7:00. Was crazy driving with Daniel, Frank, and Laura when we were going to get Laurie. Then we all went to my house. Paul gets off work at 9:00, and Marti was at the Military Ball dance with David Thompson. Tammy was still not home, nor were my parents. We all sat in the kitchen watching Frank eat cheese and then we had a Jam Session in the living room. Even heard Donny Osmond "Go Away Little Girl"! What a laugh! About 9:30, Paul dropped by and then Tammy came home, Some guys in a truck had stopped over looking for her. Fooled them! Jammed some more and then left to scare Lauri’s sister’s (Kathy) friends at the church by her dads Farm, and got there just in time! Me Frank, Paul, Daniel, Laura, and Laurie (we went up there in Paul’s car) all hid in the back and Frank laid down in the hay and looked real dead. Some guy was going to shoot Frank with a pistol (he thought Frank was just a dummy) when Frank jumped up screaming and scaring the wits out of them. They all agreed it was a good joke and then the gang (us) went to McDonalds to eat and to sing for chocolate Sundays and then we all went to Laura’s house. Her mom and dad and Joe were all there, we looked at family album pictures of Laura and her family. I had stole Laura’s purse from McDonalds and I made her think she lost it but later told her where it was (as I was leaving). I was super sleepy and Frank looked it too (maybe Daniel also) so we all left Laura’s house to go home at about 12:40 A.M. Paul dropped off Laurie, Frank and Daniel, and then me. I got home and went straight to bed. I bought one six pack earlier that night when we were in mom’s car, and on the way to the church Laura bought the 2^nd six pack which we never did entirely finish. No one got very buzzed that night. Got pretty cold that night. Laura as pogo-ing (jumping up and down) with Frank that night, she really cracks me up. 

Sunday January 10, 1982

Woke up and went to church, Frank came with us. Came home and mom and dad went to the farm. I took mom’s car and got milk, came home and made spaghetti and then picked up Tammy from Sunday School. Came home, Laura called, she had the shower party at 3:00 that day but asked if Paul, Frank, and me wanted to meet her and Laurie at Laurie’s farmhouse at 4:30 – 5:00. "OK." I called Frank and Paul, they wanted to go, Paul would be down after the football games. I took a shower and before I got out Paul was already here. He wanted to leave and get there early so she could shoot his gun at the church. So Paul and I took Paul’s car to Frank’s house where we was working on his car. He cleaned up and the 3 of us went to the church. We messed around there (IT WAS COLD!!) and shot Frank’s BB gun and Paul’s .22. Shortly Laura and Laurie drove up and did some crazy ass driving around the church and Paul could not resist so he did too. Laurie drove over somebody’s grave in the graveyard and Frank got mad. I had my hair in a ponytail the whole day. Then we went joy riding (Paul chasing Laura and Laurie in Laurie’s car) around in some farmer’s fields. It was a blast! Tore the hell out of those cars!

We all went down to the farmhouse where Laurie’s sister’s friends all were. We talked for awhile and then went joyriding again! This time some farmer started chasing us in his truck so we all split and hid at the church. It was COLD so we built a fort with the bales of hay in the church and it was still to cold for Laura and Laurie so we went back to the farmhouse where Laura found out that she forgot that she was allergic to hay….Laurie’s sister took Laurie’s car and left so the gang had the farmhouse to ourselves. Never did see Daniel today. We sat by the fireplace and watched the football game. After a little while we all decided to leave and so we were all going to McDonalds but Laura was not feeling well (because of the hay) so we dropped her off at her house. We went to McDonalds and sung for our Sundays and ate french fries (the bank sign said 19 F, -6 C, 6:30 P.M. COLD!!) Then we went to Albertsons so Laurie could cash her mother’s check to get cigarettes, then we dropped Laurie off at home. Then Paul drove Frank, and then me home. Gayle called a few times while I was trying to watch a James Bond movie – Diamonds Are Forever, and then Laura called and we talked one hour and then I finished watching the movie, Gayle called again, and then I went to bed.

Monday January 11, 1982

6 WEEKS TEST WEEK

Woke up, took a shower, missed 1^st and 2^nd, but went to school the rest of the day. Stayed for Detention during 6^th, went home, took a long nap, ate spaghetti that mom made, Gayle called, then I called Laura at about 8:00 P.M. and talked until 9:20. I sounded terrible. Laura may be getting a new car. Can’t decide whether to get the $6,000 or the $8,000. Shit! Lucky! After that I had not been feeling to well all day anyway so I went straight to bed. Slept most of the day. Paul did call once, no movie tonight but maybe tomorrow.

Tuesday January 12, 1982

PHS (BOYS & GIRLS) VS. CAPTAIN SHREVE (HOME)

I thought I had overslept but didn’t (I still felt bad from yesterday), there was no school because of the snow. Called Laura about 10:40, "Wouldn’t count on it, huh" The day was a big waste. Did nothing that day or night. Did talked to Laura on the phone that night for an hour.

Wednesday January 13, 1982

Historical Fact:  A Tampa-bound Air Florida Boeing 737 crashes into the Potomac River shortly after taking off from Washington's National Airport.

Ron came over and woke me up (still no school). Had a snowball fight, day was a waste. Learned how to do one side of the Rubik's Cube, read "Einstein's Universe". Called and talked to Laura that morning and that night.

Thursday January 14, 1982

Another wasted day. Nothing of interest happened, did nothing all day. Talked to Laura that night on the phone. Laurie was spending the night with her, talked to Laurie on the phone also. Talked from 8:00 – 9:30, Laurie always cheers me up. Laura wants to squeeze my bottom. Laura did hang up on me once but I gave in and called her back (as always) about some stupid joke.

PHS (BOYS & GIRLS) VS. NATCHITOCHES (HOME)

3^RD SIX WEEKS END

** MID-TERM **

No School. Laura was supposed to call me that afternoon. Got tired of waiting so I went to Franks house and ate blueberry muffins. Came home and called Robert- he was going to go out with Layna that night and Ron was asleep. Called Tony. Called Laura, she was gone to pick up her dress in Bossier. Laura got it done and called me, she would have called earlier but all the 797 numbered phones were broken. Got in a fight. Laurie called me back that night. Laurie and Laura were going to the wedding rehearsal and then out with the bridesmaids and that just what they did). I was throwing a shit fit but finally sort of made up with Laura. Called Ron back and woke him up, he came over later and we went to the square and I got drunk really fast on kamikazes and fell down in the mud in my white pants. I was bad off. Got home about 12:30 and went straight to bed. Laurie spent the night with Laura.

Saturday January 16, 1982

Woke up at 6:00 A.M. and couldn’t go back to sleep. Mom and dad left for the farm and at 7:45 I called Laura to tell her I could make it to her basketball game and that I would pick Laurie up. Laurie had spent the night with Laura because Laurie had been fighting with her mother again. I picked up Laurie at Laura’s house at 8:40 and left to find NOEL church. Laurie and I got lost and Laurie called Laura’s mom to get directions to the church. Got to the game at 9:30 for the last 5 min of the game. Laurie went home with Laura. I went right home so Laura could hurry off to Claiburne to look at car they might buy. Called Laura at 3:00 and then she went to the wedding. Called Laurie up and we talked awhile, I would pick her up around 5:00. I took Tammy and Cheri to Mall St. Vincent and then dropped by Robert’s house (I had called him first) and found Ron and Tony there also. Robert got a new recording unit. Left for Lauries house, picked her up and then we went back to my house. We talked and I ate ravioli and then Frank called and said he was coming over. Paul called and said he was coming down shortly. Laura called, said she was ready to party. I left Laurie and Frank at my house so they could wait for Paul, while I went to go pick up Laura. We never did see Daniel that night. Got back to the house and Paul was there and we listened to records. We were talking in the kitchen when my parents came home. Frank wanted to sneak into Hamels. Frank and I were sleepy the whole night, so Frank left for home early and Laura and I sat in the living room, and Paul and Laurie left to go to Pak-A-Sak and then Starks. Laura got real tired also so I took her and Laurie home and Paul left for home. I talked to Laura in her driveway and we made out for 40 min, left and got home at 1:05. Laura had a headache perhaps it was the champagne we had earlier.

Sunday January 17, 1982

Historical Fact:  Record low temperatures have been recorded across the country since January 9th when a blast of frigid Arctic air blew down from Canada and settled over the mid section of the country.  In Chicago, on January 10th, a 109-year record was broken when the temperature reached -26 F.

Woke up and went to Church, Frank didn’t come with us. After church, mom and dad went to the farm. I took a shower, and Ron came over (he wanted to go to the farm) and then I picked up Tammy from Sunday School. Got home and called Laura (woke her up- she was taking a nap). Invited her over and she said yes. Picked her up at 1:05, we went back to my house....Later, Tammy and Russel came home. Robert called once, Paul called once, and Laura’s mom called and we went to a Youth Group meeting at her church. She ate there. About 6:10, I left and church and took Laura home. I stayed at her house a little while and then left for home, arriving at 7:00. I ate donuts and then Gayle called and then Laura called. Called Laura right back and she was curious (along with Laurie) about Frank’s broken arm and paul’s fist. Things were slow and I was sired so I started to go to bed at 9:30 P.M. when Robert called and I talked to him until 11:30. We agreed we would go out tomorrow night.

Monday January 18, 1982

Historical Fact:  Four pilots of the USAF precision flying team "Thunderbirds" are killed when practicing a maneuver in the Nevada desert as they slam nose-first into the sand, one right after another.

LAURA GETS NEW BEAVERMOBILE

Went to school all day, Gayle gave me a heart in the lunchroom, after school messed around, Robert called and said he would meet me at the Aulds Library at 7:00 P.M. I tried calling Laura at 6:15 but she was out with her father buying a new car. Robert and I got beer, sang and screamed Beatle songs, I called Laura from a payphone once, she got a new car. Later that night at 9:30 we bumped into Laura and Laurie in Laura’s new car. We all went to Hamels and talked for awhile. They left and then Robert and I went to my house, where we snuck back out and got more beer but got home at 11:35. Robert and I put the hose in Hamel’s Shop- the lights were later out. Robert and I had a great time and we both got really buzzed.

I had a Aulds library card, #51.  Yep I was the 51st person to get a card at that library.  They freaked out years later when I showed it to them.  They eventually changed their entire scheme for cards and the number became meaningless and then I lost the card completely.

Tuesday January 19, 1982

BAND BOOSTERS MEETING 7:30

Missed 1^st and 2^nd, took test 3^rd hour, came home after school and was cleaning my room when Laura called. We talked about 20 min (about 5:15 P.M.) she asked if Frank and I wanted to go to Captain Shreve’s play that Joe was in, but Frank and I were both real busy (tests tomorrow, no money, etc). Mom had to work until 9:30 that night and dad and Tammy went to Sears, because we are getting a new refrigerator. Watched HBO in mom and dads room, Ron called at 3:05 and he wanted to go out and get a brewski tonight. Robert had school tomorrow, I had no money, etc. so we did not go out. Paul called at 7:08 and he wanted to go do something but Frank was already at a basketball game with Marti and I was out of money, etc. I read in the den and Laura called at 10:45 and she had just seen Joe’s play- she liked it. We talked until 11:35 and then I let her get her beauty sleep. It was wet and humid and sticky today.

Wednesday January 20, 1982

Went to school all day today. Sorry-ass weather, no rain but somehow everything is soaking wet. Humid. After school, took a nap, and mom and dad went to the farm. Laura tried calling at 7:00, but Tammy and I did not hear it because we were in mom and dads room watching Cheech and Chongs Next Movie. Laura did call at 8:00, I said I would call her back. I called Laura at 9:08, Laura said she had tried to call me at 7:00 to invite me over. No one was home at her house because Joe was at the play and her parents were at theplay and no one was supposed to be home until 10:30. SHIT! We talked until 10:20, conversation started off great, ended allright. Paul called twice- he wanted to go out tonight and he gets off at 9:00 but there was no way I could make it. Mom and dad got home at 9:17 from the farm. I read and then went to bed.

Thursday January 21, 1982

REPORT CARDS

Missed 1^st, went tp 2^nd and 4rd. Was going to go home after lunch and invite Laura over but Laura and Laurie had been skipping all day and had come up to Parkway during lunch. Gayle saw her. Frank was eating on 1^st lunch shift so me, Laura, Laurie, and Frank all went to my house for awhile and then Laura and Laurie dropped Frank and me back at school in time for 5^th hour. I told Laura that I MIGHT come over that night. After school, called Laura up and told her how mad Gayle was. I told Laura that I would call her before 6:00 if I was coming over and that if I couldn’t then I would just call about 8:00 – 8:30. I called Laura at 5:50, after taking a shower and eating sloppy joes. Mom came back from the commissary and then I left for Laura’s house and got there at 7:13. We watched HBO "My Body Guard", and then a little of a topless dance show at the Mulon Rouge. I got home at 9:45. Joe was at the play and her father was gone the whole time and her mother was in her bedroom watching TV and reading. I came home, wrote and explanation note to Gayle, and then went to bed.

PHS (BOYS & GIRLS) AT AIRLINE (AWAY)

Went to school all day. After school mom was home warily but I took a nap from 2:45 – 5:30, which was when Laura called. She and Laurie would come over in the new Beavermobile. I took a shower and was sitting on the tailgate of the truck when Laurie and Laura drove up. Marti is on the senior trip this weekend, Paul got off at six but came down later. So Laura, me, and Laurie were on the tailgate when Julie, Bic, and Teresa drove up with senior party invitations. Then Paul came up and then (After he had been calling) Frank and Daniel showed up in the station wagon because Frank was going to see "Private Lessons" no matter what. Julie, Bic, and Teresa left because it started to rain and we all went into the den to decide what to do. After a lot of arguing, we wnet to see ghost tracks (railroad tracks) in the Beavermobile. Frank put money on the tracks when a train came by and lost most of it (it rained a lot). Then we went and played hide and seek on the roof of the riverside school. We later drove by there and there were two police cars there. We went to McDonalds once earlier so Laura could pee, and after the school we went to Burger King, then drove around and then we went home. Laura sure drank her moneys worth of beer! Laura and Laurie dropped me, Frank, Paul, Frank and Daniel off ant my house and Laura and Laurie went home. Me, Paul, Frank and Daniel talked in the den until about (2:15 A.M. and then everyone went home and I went to bed).

Ron Gets A Stud’s Car

Gramma Came Home

Woke up around 8:00, mom and dad took their time in going to the farm. Grandma is coming in tonight. So mom and dad took the car and the truck to the farm because mom had to come home early to pick up grandma at the airport at 5:00. I called Laura about 1:30 and her dad was working on her car. She said if she did come over she would call first. Then Robert and Ron came over, Ron got a new car, a 1977 Cutlas Solon but they drove over in Robert’s car. Robert had made some more neat-spliced tapes. After awhile, they left and I called Laura and told her I would call the that night to go out. I rode my bike to the base library and got some books. Came home and mom was cleaning the den for Grandma- her flight had been delayed until 9:30 that night. I called Laura and told her I would pick her and Jeter up at 7:00. Took mom’s car and dropped Tammy off at Parkway, went to the liquor store and got 7up and Seagram's 7. Got to Laura’s house at 6:45 and went to Laurie’s house after Parking for 2 min in her neighbors yard.

So me and Laurie and Laura went to Frank’s house (hadn’t talked to him all day) and waited for mom to get out of the shower to get ready. Then Frank and Daniel came with us all to my house. Paul gets off at 9:00 tonight. We went into the living room and then dad came home and the gang was thinking of sneaking off to the farm but to many complications arose. Mom and dad left to pick up grandma at the airport and Paul came over and we all talked and goofed off. I played the piano and wanted to see if Paul could sing this line. Got in a fight with Laura and maybe Laurie too when Frank was reading a paper on star travel by myself. Mom and dad came home with grandma and then dad told Paul some new jokes and then the gang got into Paul’s car and went to Burger King. Laura drank her share again, and I was drinking 7 & 7 but didn’t have very much at all. After leaving Burger King, Paul went through the square, drove around, then took everyone home. Laurie, Laura, me, and then Frank and Daniel. I got in at 12:45 and was tired and went to bed. Paul had wanted to go to Action West. Robert and Ron didn’t do anything that night.

Sunday January 24, 1982

Historical Fact:  Super Bowl XVI is won by the San Francisco 49ers over the Cincinnati Bengals in the Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan.  Joe Montana earned the MVP honors.

Superbowl Sunday.

Frank went to church with us. That is the only time I talked to or saw Frank all day. Mom and dad went to the farm, I ate and took a shower and then picked up Tammy from Sunday school. About 1:40, Laura came over (SURPRISE!) and we talked and then we went to visit Laurie who was visiting in Town South, then Laura and I went to a superbowl party. We talked to Laura’s mom, and Laura and some other lady for 2 hours. Then Laura and I went to Robert’s house to see Ron’s new car and to get my watch from Ron. Then we went to my house and she stayed until 8:30. We were watching TV, went to Pak-A-Sak for ciggs (we were in the Beavermobile all day) watched the superbowl and then Russel came over, mom and dad came home, Laura and I went outside to sit in her car. Laura left, I went in and ate, and called Robert- he was crying because of great back pain. Read and then went to bed.

Monday January 25, 1982

Went to school all day, went to new classes. Gayle is mad- she said I had put Laura on the phone. Came home, read "Animal Farm", called Laura from 8:00 – 9:00 (on the red phone now that grandma is back). Flipped through the PDR. Went to bed early. A pretty boring day. Laura had gone to basketball practive- she said she got a black eye from a stray ball. (Later found out this was a joke!) Finished Animal Farm. Ate 3 lunches at school.

Tuesday January 26, 1982

PHS (BOYS & GIRLS) VS GREEN OAKS (HOME)

Went to school all day, a pretty easy day in school, ate 3 times at lunch. After school read "The Second Lady", mom gets off work at 9:00 tonight, dad mentioned about getting a job and a car. Then dad left to get gas and beer and I tried calling Laura at 8:00 and 8:30 but their phone was busy both times. About 8:30 Gayle called on the black phone- she was baby sitting. Then at 8:45 Laura called on the red phone so I let Gayle go on the black phone, and talked to Laura until 9:20 (after mom and dad came home). Earlier Paul had called at 7:20 and he wanted to go out tonight. "OK. At the library at 11:00." I would try to contact Frank but no luck, he was at the basketball game with Marti. After talking with Laura, I read more of "The First Lady" and then preparted for the night. I suck out, met Paul driving up the street on the way to the library. We went and parked in a seculeded playgroung park near McDonalds and drank Segreams & 7up and Ezza Brooks. About 12:00, we went up to Action West and we stayed until closing time. Got home and made sloppy joes and ate and went to bed at 2:20. Being a dumbass I left the Segreams 7 bottle in obvious sight in the dinning room. Got a little buzzed, Paul loaded me $5.00. At Action West, had one 7&7 and one Amarido Sour.

Wednesday January 27, 1982

Went to school- was kept pretty busy in all classes. Report cards have been delayed until tomorrow. They must now be signed. Picked up my campus pass. After school Rob Horner called, he got another car- a 1976 Caprice Classic for $550. What a bargin! Shit. Mom came home and I took her car to get folders at the Four Seasons but they did not have the right kind. I saw Ron’s car parked near there and left a Shithead Inc. notecard on his car. Then I went to Cobbs BBQ and then home. Mom and dad had gone to the farm. I got home and Paul and Frank were there, they were finally going to see "Private Lessons". Robert had called earlier, we would go out tomorrow night. Laurie had called so I called her back and talked to her- I did not know Laura was there until she left at about 6:55 (she had skipped basketball practive). I would go over to Laura’s shortly. Left at 7:08, got to Laura’s house and everyone was out except her, but Joe and her mom soon came home. Joe took apart my Rhubic Cube and put it back together completed. Laura and I sat and watched PAVILLION on HBO. Laura worked up a few Beaver Tears because I accidently (I swear!) hurt her. I left about 9:50, came home home and did my homework.

Thursday January 28, 1982

Went to school, came home, took a nap, mom confirmened that I was coming down with a fever. Robert called- I still wanted to go out because my parents were going to the farm. I called Laura and told her I would call her at 10:05. Her and Laurie were going to see a movie (but they never did make it there). Robert came over, we goofed off and then went driving around, we bumped into Mr. Hamel at the shop, got home about 9:30, only had about 2 beers the whole night. At 9:45 Laura called- they did not see a movie after all, but wanted to know if I "found the beer bottles Beaver and Skeeter left?" Yes. I talked to Laura on the phone for 40 min but she said I was grippy. I had a fever of 102 so I went right to bed at 10:30. Mom and dad came home about 10:10.

Friday January 29, 1982

PHS (BOYS & GIRLS) AT CAPTAIN SHREVE (AWAY)

Woke up with a slight temp of 101 so mom said no school. I stayed home all day and messed around and read. I called Laura at 12:05, she was making Macaroni and Cheese. I invited her over. She had to pick up the Beavermobile first then she would be over. Mom called, she got off work at 12:00 and was coming home. Shit! Mom got home at 12:45 and started cleaning house. Laura came over about 2:!0 and then mom went to pick up Tammy from school because they were going shopping for a dress for her beauty pagent. Laura left about 3:40 and we agreed I would pick her and Laurie up later at 6:45. Took a nap, woke up at 6:45 and took a shower, called Laura and told her I would be late. Then mom said I could not go out. Called Laura back and she said she could come over. She called Laurie and then the screw up started. I asked mom again and then I called Laura back and said I would pick her up after all. I got to Laura's house at 7:35 and she said Laurie was mad. Well we called Laurie and said we would pick her up and go to my house to meet Paul and Frank there (Paul got off at 9:00). Laura’s parents had gone out to eat and Joe finished watching "Friday the 13^th" on HBO with us and then went out. Laura and I watched TV for awhile and then went to pick up Laurie and then we went to my house. Paul and Frank and Daniel came over and we all went to (After much deciding there was nothing that anyone wanted to do) Burger King where I faked being sick. We took Laura and Laurie home and then me, Paul, Frank, and Daniel went to the square. They wouldn’t let Daniel in Action West so we took him home and I said take me home too because I had a headache. Before we went to the square we went to Robert’s house to het my wallet (it had my ID in it). I called Laura from Robert’s house briefly. Paul and Frank went back to the Action West and I went to bed. Got in about 12:15.

Saturday January 30, 1982

Wake up about 10:00, mom and dad and even Tammy went to the Farm.. Laura called at 11:00, she had gone to the basketball game earlier, they had won again! She would call me back after she took a shower and decided what she wanted to do today. David Polander came over at 12:10 and left about 12:45, I called Laura and we decided I would pick her up and we would talk at my house. We listened to records, watched TV....took her home about 4:20, would pick her up at 6:45 and then we would go get Laurie. Goofed off around the house, then left and picked up Laura and Laurie and then we went to my house. Paul and Frank and Daniel came over in Paul’s car (Paul got off work at 6:00). I wanted to see the movie "Modern Problems" at Mall St. Vincent but Paul refused to drive anywhere, gas money, etc. So we all sat around my house (it was raining outside) and my parents and Tammy came home. Paul and Daniel left to take Laurie home to see if she could get her car. Frank, Laura, and me stayed at my house and watched "Fantasy Island". Daniel and Paul came back, and then Frank, Daniel and Paul all went to Frank’s house so Frank could eat and I said I was going to take Laura home. So Laura and I went to Laura’s house, her mom was the only one home and she was asleep. So we watched "Scanners" on HBO and then "MuLoun Rouge" and Laura looked sleep and I was too so I left and got home at 12:50. Was at Laura’s for about 2.3 hours.

Sunday January 31, 1982

Woke up, went to church, mom and dad went to the farm, I ate, picked up Tammy from Sunday School, took a shower, Laura and Laurie dropped over about 1:30, a surprise visit. Paul had just called, he wanted to go to Laurie Jeter’s farm. So Paul came down and Paul, Laurie, Laura and me went to Jeter’s farm (Frank was getting a new cast, then we was at Marti’s all day). Laura and me went in the Beavermobile and Paul and Laurie went in Paul's car, he had brought his .22 and air pistol. We messed around, climbed a tree, talked, Laura had to leave for a Sunday school practice at 4:30. While she was gone, me Paul and Laurie went up to the store to get something to eat and drink. Came back and I bet Paul he couldn’t start the fire. Paul lost the bet because I cheated (I had poured water on the log). Laura called and she was coming back. Laura came back and we all talked and goofed off and then we left. Paul took Laurie and me home, Laura went home in her car. Laurie wanted to skip school the next day (tomorrow). Got home and Laura called and asked if Frank and I were going to skip tomorrow- I said no. "OK". She would call tomorrow. I had gotten home at 8:35 mem and dad were back from the farm. Messed around and then went to bed. Gayle finally called today- she is on restriction from the phone though. She had been trying to call me since Thursday but I was always out.
