Hi!  My name is Mark Trainer (long-time Louisiana Boy and LSU-S graduate but now living in the Chicago area) and throughout these pages you'll find an assortment of my writings, pictures, and songs.   The web site is always under construction, so check back often for updates and new content.

Drop me a line at marktrainer@marktrainer.com.

The Latest

Work:

I made Vice President Wachovia Securities in the fall of 2007.   The company wants me to move to St. Louis but I have not made up my mind yet.

Personal:

I am a divorced father of one child, Michael.   I am currently living with my girlfriend Donna and her daughter, Ceci.   We're all World of Warcraft fans, and play when we can.

The Birthday:

Turned 40 last June....spent the big day in Las Vegas at the Bellagio.   Had an awesome time there.  Spent 5 days there and on the day of my birthday, I couldn't lose!   Just like a birthday should be.  Stayed out all night and watched the sun come up.    I saw David Copperfield at the MGM Grand and Mamma Mia at Mandalay Bay.

Las Vegas, Nevada.  Taken from the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Paris.

The Job:

I've been working at Wachovia Securities in the heart of Chicago for a year now, having been a consultant there for about 2 years before that.  This job is a real handful because we're merging Prudential Securities and Wachovia Securities, which will create the 3rd largest securities firm in the U.S.   So there are lots of projects going on and the work load is endless.

The Hobbies:

Finally got the Big Stick 40 flying again (radio control airplanes).  I have another airplane in a box all I need is time to assemble it.  Nothing going on with the model trains, although they are always on my mind.  Been adding equipment to the Yamaha S80 setup- I think if I had a pair of Mackie HR-824s and a Roland XV-5050 the studio would be perfected.  I love writing songs and think about it all the time.

I love playing the piano and keyboard, and if you're interested in hearing some songs that I've written and performed, visit this site, which I created three years ago and and generates lots of traffic:  www.yamahaS80.com (go to the MP3 Page).   I also have a CD of my songs I can send to anyone interested (email me).

You can use the links below to jump directly to some of my favorite pages.  The pictures were taken using a range of digital cameras I've owned starting in 1997.  We've lost some and retired others.  I'm currently using a Cannon S220.

I'm into MIDI, Song Writing, RC Airplanes, Piano, Programming, Web Development, Photography, Model Railroading, Flight Simulation, Video Games, Drinking with Friends...and all things Cosmological.  Yep my interests haven't changed in 20 years.  But all of my hobbies are a blast and I can't help feeling sorry for those who don't know the thrill of creating and building new things.

Are you a Commodore 64 fan?  Did you upgrade to the 2 MHZ Commodore 128 the month it came out?   Did you ever own an Amiga 2000?  These were once fantastic computers!   I have spent countless hours programming these old machines.  More more reflections, visit the articles page, then choose a sub-link.

Thanks for stopping by.  You are visitor # to access this site, since it's creation on August 24, 1998.  This site was last updated on 12/25/07.   The hit counter was busted for a couple of years so it is probably understated by a few thousand hits.
